CAST, A Non-Governmental Organization based in Kilifi Town, is currently seeking to recruit a qualified M&E Expert to join its team. The Organization is carrying out the Blue Economy and coastal ecosystem, opportunities for a sustainable development project, AID 012590/01/5. The overall objective of the project is to increase the resilience of coastal communities and strengthen institutional governance in protection and management of natural resources, reducing the vulnerability of the fragile subjects as well as mitigation of the effects of climate change. The M&E Expert will be responsible for implementing and enhancing accurate monitoring and evaluation systems of the above objective. The Expert will ensure high-quality data collection, entry, analysis, and interpretation, contributing to the operationalization of the results framework for ECOS project.

 

Job Type: One year contract Part time
Location: Kilifi

 

The prospective candidate willing to join the organization must meet the following conditions and academic qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or masters in international and socio-economic development, statistics, data management or another relevant field.

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in monitoring and evaluating of development projects in an organization with a well-built M&E component.

  • Good knowledge in using indicators , output, outcome at goal level and developing tools for measurement purposes.

  • Support the alignment of the monitoring and evaluation framework to the overall and specific objectives and to the component outcomes.

  • Be conversant with the Theory of Change.

  • Experience in M&E approaches for key donors such as AICS and EU.

  • Experience in mobile data collection applications (es KoboToolbox).

  • Proven experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods, survey design and implementation, and statistical data analysis.

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision but serve as a facilitator of other people’s work and a team player.

 

The job entails:

  • Conduct field visits for data collection, data validation and ensure regular data updates and data entry in compliance with donor regulations.

  • Provide data on indicators and show progress against target

  • Provide data that supports routine, quarterly and annual reporting including reporting on project indicators

  • Support external evaluator, including midterm and final report and any rapid cycle evaluations, ensuring the unbiased assessment of project impacts.
